Help!! Heaters, wing mirrors, windows and radio all stopped working

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a Ford Mondeo TDCI titanium 2015 and intermittently I have a major problem that I’m desperate to fix but Ford can’t find a fault.

every so often the electrics stop and my wing mirrors won’t move, the blowers stop, the windows won’t move and I can’t adjust the radio setting on the screen - the sat nav works but nothing else on the screen is responsive. The errors all occur at the same time. The car can be like this for a month or a day and then it randomly all comes back on.

the result is I’m struggling to drive the car since the window screen is getting steamed up.

for some reason the front passenger window panel works so I end up opening that window which helps slightly but it is hardly ideal and freezing at the moment!

I can control the volume of the radio on the steering wheel only.

I have taken it to a Ford garage when the fault happened but when they switched the car on it had gone back to normal and they said they couldn’t find a fault!

I’m desperate not to get rid of the car - has anyone else had this problem or heard of it?

thank you!

Have you tried replacing the battery? A 2015 on its original battery is probably on its last legs.

I admin a Mk5 Facebook group and we have discussed this before, come and take a lookMondeo group

Hi please help I have the EXACT same issue. Taken to the garage still not found the problem. Did anyone get to the bottom of it ?

Very likely the Body Control Module has water ingress which is a common problem with the Mondeo.

All the things listed in the heading as not working, are all controlled by the BCM.

I know this is an old post but this is the same issue I am having has anyone ever got to the bottom of it. I have removed and checked my BCM and it is all completely dry as is all the plugs. It is now at the point I don't trust taking the car far and am contemplating selling and getting something else but do like the car as it is fully loaded with all extras.

Then you have a faulty BCM most likely.

Just because it's not wet doesn't mean it cant go faulty. Have you used FORScan to read the Ford specific DTC's ?
