Warped front Discs or Not?

Featured Replies

Our 66 plate Edge with 40,000 miles on the clock recently showed symptoms of warped front discs, when braking  from speed a slight shaking could be felt  on the brake pedal and steering wheel.

Last year I’d changed the front disc pads  and everything was OK, unknown to me the new pads where slightly bigger than the originals so where touching unworn and rust parts of the disc, as the mileage increased and with a bit of hard braking parts of the rusty disc broke off causing the symptoms .!

So just incase you have the similar  symptoms this might be the cause!

Any reason why this has been posted twice ?

One each side.

The only time I get warped discs is when wheel are not torqued correctly

I've had some mechanics just crank on the wheel nuts by hand real tight. Warp your rotors every dam time
