Hi everyone , i hope someone can help with this, mondeo mk3 tdci 130bhp 02plate, i broke down and called the aa they put the machine on and it came up with crankshaft sensor, so got it to my garage he changed crankshaft sensor and car then would still not start put machine on came up with cam sensor so we changed that car then started, took car from garage ok for about five mins then started running lumpy, took back to garage he couldnt find problem so took it to ford they said it was the glow plugs and the manifiold gasket (after 352.00 of diagnostic checks for this and that) so not being able to afford ford to fix it took it to another garage who did the work and collected the car started it and got the same problem still running lumpy with a little smoke but after 2/3 miles car is fine , but everytime i start it it runs high on revs (around 950) and like a tappit noise from engine its like having a choke on a old car , at the moment it stands me just over £800 in repairs , just cant work out the problem as before it broke down it ran brilliant no tapping ,no smoke ,no high revs, i hope someone can help, i have also changed the fuel filter . thanks

the tappet noise could be the timing belt tensioner failing and it may have jumped a tooth hence why its running lumpy its just a possibility to throw at you if it has a belt and not a chain i honestly couldnt say
