Ford Focus MK2 1.6 VVTi Ticking

Featured Replies

Hi There,

I have a Ford Focus 1.6i, it is a 2005 & has the VVTi engine in it, I have noticed really since I got it when you start it up from cold or when you turn it off there's a ticking coming from what I can hear is the VVTi solenoids on the top of the rocker cover.

I have put my hand over them & can feel the ticking when it happens, the car does use a bit of oil but not excessive for a 130k engine. It has been well serviced, cam belt, water pump etc recently also. The ticking doesn't bother me but it would be nice to sort it.

Has anybody had this issue before?

Thanks

Joshua Falls

All sigma engines tick when cold and once upto temparture it fades away. The injectors also make alot of noise.
