Sync issue

Hi,
I'm pulling my hair out with this issue....I have a 14 plate Kuga titanium with the Sony head unit, I believe I have the sync basic (poss sync1), and am unable to connect my phone, keeps saying sync initialising please wait, doesn't do anything else, occasionally I can connect for music only but that's it....not just my phone, my wife's as well (she has iPhone and I have Android)....I have also already pulled F67 and disconnected for 10mins, still doesnt work....unable to perform factory reset as it won't allow me to.....I have on occasions pressed to master reset but dosent seem to perform it at all. Please please help
