Fitting New Front Grille Badge Any Ideas?

Featured Replies

I have a 55 plate streetka that could do with a new front badge as the laquer has started to peel and look unsightly.

I bought a new one off the internet but now I have had a look it doesnt look that simple compared to taking off a normal ka plastic grille

It looks like half the bumper has to be removed?

Does anyone have any advice?

Cheers

Chris

I know this is an old post but I have just done this job myself today.

The standard badge has 2 lugs on the back and these are pinned on behind the grill.

The grill does pop out but I don't recommend it because you can easily lose the clips.

Instead open the bonnet and take out the 3 screws on top of the grill and also the 2 plastic screws for the black cover flap on the right hand side.

This will enable you to bend the grill forwards as it's very thin. You will see the badge lugs and can snip them off. You then have to prize the badge off as it's also stuck on with the usual sticky back.

I replaced it with a standard badge off Ebay. In fact it's a couple of mm's bigger but it sticks on no problem without the lugs and won't budge. Just make sure you line it up straight etc. The put the grill screws back in. Job done. :)

Thanks Sandycat, after reading your instruction to the OP, I decided to buy one off Fleebay and change the wife's. I've been trying to work out for ages how to change it, but with your advice it worked a treat, cheers buddy

Good stuff. Glad to help. :)
