How to turn off the radio display

Featured Replies

MK8 members, can someone tell me how we can turn off the radio completely, light, sound, etc., (like when you close the car it turns off, the FORD symbol appears.)
to avoid running out of battery. Because if you press the on / off button, you just turn off the sound and not the radio entirely. Only turn off the radio completely if you lock the car or open a door.
I know that if you click on the right button (image)it will turn off the display screen but I intend to turn off even the radio display. Thank You.

Hi welcome

  • 5 years later...

the radio screen shows up on the sat nav screen how do i hide it

sorry didn't tell you what car it was puma 25 plate

Right hand lower button turns off the display which actually uses most of the energy and a push on the left round button switches off the sound.

Excuse me for saying but this is not the correct solution to your problem. You are disabling functions that the car is designed to have and it has enough battery capacity to use them . Your problem is that you are short of battery power because of on of two reasons.

1: the battery is worn out, which is unlikely in your case.

2: the car is not being used enough to keep the battery topped up.

In both of these cases, the radio is the least of your problems. Things will get worse.

I would suggest firstly that you use a good charger to top up the battery once a week or month, as the car needs, secondly that you learn how to connect the charger correctly as it is not immediately obvious and thirdly that you read up on here about FORSCAN and raising the battery's State Of Charge as this advice has been known to help many owners with battery issues over a long peiod of time.
