Engine Malfunction problem

Featured Replies

Has anyone had this problem, my 2009 focus CC 2.0 TDCI  manual 6 speed ( 85,000 miles) , "Engine Malfunction" light comes on and the starter motor doesn't operate, fully charged battery.  The first thing happened a few days ago, after freewheeling down a 2 mile slope a warning light came on saying " acceleration limited" and the car was unresponsive to accelerator but driveable. next day it briefly would not start and the " Engine Malfunction" light came on. After waiting a few minutes it went back to normal and drove as normal. Out on a run tonight it suddenly lost all engine power and the " Engine Malfunction" light came back on, car stopped and has not started since. Had to get RAC.  Ice warning light comes yellow on when I turn the key and after a few seconds turns red. It is not a cold day.

Anybody have any advice?
