6000AUX CD RDS Player not playing CDs

Featured Replies

The CD player in our 2008 Ka has stopped working around 3 years back and the cheapest option was a second hand one off eBay

But now this one has the same error

When you try to put a CD in the slot it gets ejected with "CD Error" on the display

Does anyone know of a fix for this or would it be possible to get it repaired?

Thanks

Peter

No point in getting it repaired, Ebay replacements can be got for £20 or so. You could try an old fashioned CD disc cleaner. You can pick them up for a couple of pounds. It consists of a special CD with a built in small brush, and you squirt some supplied cleaner on it and it internally cleans the CD lens.

Thanks Stephen,

When we swapped the first for the replacement the front piece was a bit rough so I swapped it to the one we already had and I notice on eBay that there are a few 6000 series CD/Radio units second had out of different ford cars - I wonder if internally they are the same so I only have to change the front panel again?

I would just be patient and get a 'mint' one, plenty about. I needed one last month and got one that looked brand new for £20 inc P&P (and code!). The only thing I was aware of was to get a like for like button configuration in that some do not have an 'AUX' button, which I need to use my DAB converter!
