Xr2 1988 Cutting Out Problem

Hi, any ideas. Got an XR2 1988 starts fine but when revs slow down it cuts out and is sluggish to get going again. Had filters changed and distributor. not sure on timing, Can any one advise?

    if it has an idle cntrol valve ide check that or adjust the idle on the carb
