hi in my mondeo mk3 when using the a/c everythings fine and dandy but when i switch it off and come back to the car a little later there is a musty pong inside the car, but not while driving or using the a/c,anything need cleaning or any ideas as to where the pong is coming from,i.e are there any filters that can be cleaned or replaced.......cheers

it could be the pollen filter that needs changing see here,

or it could be a build up of bateria in the system which you can get aerosol cleaners for.

have seen ads to de odorize a/c if i get some aerosol where do i squirt it (be nice now)

I would just check your filters to see if they're clogged up with !Removed!.

Having a smell can be pontentially dangerous...it could be pumping in engine fumes like carbon monoxide - that's what I heard anyway.

check the filter first as if this is blocked cleaning the system will not do anything, with the aerosol cleaners you start the car, put the air con on and in recycle mode and then set the aerosol off in the footwell of the car,leave it to do its work for ten minutes and job done.the instruction will be on the can or with the product.
