Help!!! Zetec S Ecoboost new engine needed

Hi, just after some advice really. I have a 14 plate zetec s eco boost 125hp - 75k miles on it. Wouldn’t start today randomly and found out need new engine - hydraulically locked and cylinders full of water. Been quoted around 3k genuine Ford engine (part only) or around 2100 for recon engine. Has this happened to anyone before, if so, what did you do? I have 3000 left on a loan to pay it off. Need to figure out some options as I’m so stressed! Thank you

    Hydrolocked Engine

    An engine hydrolock occurs when water gets into the engine’s combustion chamber. On the combustion stroke, the piston is unable to reach the top of its stroke because the water won’t compress like the air-fuel mixture would. The engine suddenly stops. If the engine is at low RPMs, you may escape without critical engine damage. At higher RPMs, bent connecting rods and busted pistons are almost guaranteed.

    If it can't be repaired I'd get a recon engine for a 7 year old car.
