Ford KA cutting out on motorway

My 63 plate Ford KA keeps cutting out when doing 70 on the motorway for 10-15 minutes. Engine light comes on and goes into limp mode before eventually cutting out.  Ford put it down to the dash panel being faulty and replaced. It has since happened again when i did my next motorway journey. Ford have since said they can't find any fault and they have suggested a new battery. The computer had registered a misfire but I had no shuddering and ford dismissed this. 

 

Any recommendations as to what might be causing this?

    Is a 63 plate ka the one based on fiat 500 and built by fiat? Dont know if ecu and engine is identical to fiat 500.  I am thinking maybe it needs a Fiat person instead of a Ford person
