Ford Focus 2 lt estate Vignale 2019 battery draining

Featured Replies

Hi all after some help

we have just purchased this car at the end of August with less that 8k on the clock

after our first holiday away recently we came to start the car and the battery was dead

AA came with booster pack and it starts back up. This as now happened 4 times

we have now got this back at Bristol Street Motors we’re it’s been looked at

after 10 or more days after all updates they are no further forwards and still not starting after being left

this is starting to concern us with reliability issues

as anyone else had these problems

Known modules causing battery drains are the ABS, TCU (telematics that the Ford Pass is run off of), BCM and a couple of other minor ones that are hit and miss wether they do or not.

The battery could also be faulty but Fords battery testers are awful unless they have a DCA-8000 which is currently a trail tester that only select dealers have.

I have a focus vignale 2 ltr diesel estate collected on 4 dec 18 on the 24 dec battery flat aa jump started it causing a fire inside the alternator taken to Ford garage got it back they only charged it up 2 months later flat again aa came out 3 times for this and would not on the 4 time for same fault garage had to come out them selves had a call it was ready to collect a couple of days later went over to collect it and it was flat again in 30 minutes after the phone call I left it there having given them some strong words they were told by Ford it needed a new part that stops the battery from draining all the way down this was about 6 - 7 weeks in the waiting but it still drains down but not enough to stop it from starting they say I don’t drive it enough but it goes down by the hour I have checked it with a meter on the hour through the day it goes down hour by hour they told me to connect it to a charger when leaving it not the best outcome I have given up on it now worse Ford Focus I have ever had

@Rick99Alright mate, did you ever get a solution to the battery drain?

I have a 22 Plate Focus ST and mine is doing the same. https://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/138944-ford-focus-st-22-battery-drain/#comments

Just wondering if they ever managed to sort it?
