Hi folks. My Grand C Max 2014's roof bars (silver) are in a poor state and may need a respray. The paint just seems to be delaminating and flaking off. 

Anyone done a refurb job like this before? Know the paint codes and the best approach to doing it?

The rails are made of an alloy (might be some type of aluminium alloy) and as such the rails will need to be fully sand/bead blasted then undercoated using an acid type etch primer. Its not a quick or cheap job to do.

It depends on how good a job you want, and how long you intend to keep the car but it might be worth finding out how much brand new rails would cost.
