I fitted some flash new expensive Bosch Super 4 plugs.  Shortly afterwards she went onto three cylinders, missing on No 4.  Plug out - the elctrodes had gone!   I took a look inside the bore with my camera and saw a bit of damage to the top land of the piston but cannot get to test the compression because the tube just will not go in, there is no room.   New (cheap) plugs, still on 3.   Change the coil pack, definitely 4 sparks now but still running on three.  Set of new injectors (only £60 at least) discovering, incidentally, that some oaf in the past had fitted completely the wrong ones and stuck them in with plastic gasket.   Connected up petrol pipes wrong way then right way.  Finally she runs but on 3 1/2 only and fearsome blowback through the oil filler.   No way can I prove it so no point in trying to embarrass Bosch.

It is a shame, 1.6 deluxe and a nice little car (new tyres too) but there is rust underneath, the hood is shot and it is not such a good car as my MG TF 135.  That also needs engine-out work but I have put in a lot of work on the chassis and ended up with a car that goes very well so I would rather put the work into that than the Ford.   I have my eyes on the Ford's heated leather seats for the MG though!    After that, it is down the Graveyard with it - unless anyone wants to come Carlisle way for the bits?

Do you still have the Streetka and if so are you stripping for parts. I am looking for rear light cluster.
