2017 C Max Electrical smell / head unit playing up.

My head unit has been playing up for a while, like changing from day to night and sometimes freezing on the audio screen.

Yesterday I smelt what seems to be electrical burning, like when my dad had those old train sets. But the head unit still works.

As it's getting colder the heater has started to work more, and I googled and someone said coolant smells like electrical burning? The heater matrix could be leaking?

I'm going to take the dash apart and have a look at the wires to the head unit if it's not that it's the heater matrix?
