2012 Ka new instrument cluster issue

Featured Replies

Evenin all,

quick question that’s baffling me, bought a 2012 Ka Ztec for my daughters first car, had a few issues being as it sat unused for some months, long and short,

battery replaced

new alternator

NEW (genuine brand new from Ford) instrument cluster, the old one had all the usual dim lights all over the display and causing battery drain.
the cars only done 37700 from new but the dash is apparently quite common when the battery goes completely flat.

anyway, fitted the new cluster and all’s good BUT, mileage/odometer hasn’t come up on the dash and all I’ve got is H      0  flashing, tried connecting ForScan but it wont even connect to the car? Even with the old cluster fitted back in (origonal mileage showing ok),

anyone got any tips or thoughts please, I’d hate to take it to the main-stealers just for them to pull my trousers down, any one tried/had this issue,

your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t know the answer but 2012 ka is made by Fiat so I don’t know if you need fiat software.

Thanks for that isetta, I did wonder on that one, tried a friends SnapOff scanner, latest one with all the watch-me screens and it still went through as a Ford, and the clusters are very different too, might have a snout for a Fiat diag dongle, but I can’t see Ford main stealers advising punters to take it to their nearest Fiat /Chrysler dealer because they can’t talk to it, admittedly, the screen jockeys at any of the stealers can’t do anything unless the screen tells them what to do exactly, and even then they’re good at nausing it up, but I’ll see if I can find one, gotta be worth a shot,

cheers isetta.

Hi David, as Isetta has said you probably need Fait software. Have you bought the full licence for FORScan (£10) ?

You need the licence to adjust the mileage on the IC

Me again,

All sorted, purchased FiCom (genuine not snide), keyed in the mileage, synced BCM to IC and ABS ECU, all snorted and working perfectly.
so if there’s anyone in the Cambridgeshire area needs assistance with a Ka2 of similarity Fiat etc let me know and I’m sure we can sort it out.

thanks for the suggestions everybody.

I'm in desperate need of access to FiCom for a similar unresolved issue. Are you ever around Birmingham way?
