ford kuga blower motor resistor replacement

Featured Replies

hi guys - has anyone changed there blower motor resistor before and was it a pig of a job or is there an easy way to do it ? it looks difficult as i dont even see it yet - mine is a 2ltr 2014 kuga with auto climate control - my fan has no speeds at all nothing so was going to change the resistor hoping this will cure it -- any advice about replacement appreciated guys

Resistor pack failure normally means the fan will only run at high speed. Have you checked the fuse for the blower fan ?

hi again - i put a voltage meter across the terminals on the output plug from resistor that goes to blower motor - one goes straight to earth and the other goes from approx 11 volts down to 4 volts depending on what speed you set the blower control switch to

If you have voltage at the plug and the fan don't run then I would say the motor has gone.

Try and connect up a couple of leads direct to the motor (put a 10 amp fuse in one of the leads) and connect to the 12 volt battery to see if the motor runs.
