Autolocking when pulling away.

Featured Replies

Hi,im trying to set up the autolocking on my c max titanium 2016, ive been on the ford website and followed the push 3 times instructions several times but i only get 1 beep from the horn which means its not switched it on,can you help?

The button procedure that is used to activate the autolocking function will only work if autolocking is activated into the Central Car Configuration (CCC) of the BCM.

On European market Focus, C-max and Kuga vehicles the autolocking function is deactivated in the CCC as standard. For this function to work it needs to be activated inside the CCC using a suitable diagnostic system. Once activated the autolocking function can be switched on or off using the button procedure.

Autolocking (drive away locking) is not available on UK models and it can not be turned on using the instructions in the handbook.

If you get a laptop and download the software FORScan then you can use that to change the settings in the BCM to enable autolock. You can also on some models turn on the autolock display in the instrument cluster.

I have used this method on a Focus Mk4, Ecosport Mk2, Fiesta Mk7 and it works fine and is easy to do.

Download FORScan from here:  https://forscan.org/download.html

You could just press the lock button on the inside of the door.

It doesn't use much energy to do this so no need to worry about your carbon footprint on this one 👍

Now why didn't I think to do that ????

Maybe because I'd have to remember to do it every time I got in the car, and of course remember again to re-lock if anyone gets out.

So I faffed about just once for ten minutes, enabled autolock and now I don't have to faff about pressing the little button each and every time I get in to drive. I think it might be reducing my carbon footprint since I don't need to expend any energy lifting my hand up to the door button, but I will need to carry out an in-depth study before I can confirm. 🤔
