Fuel and temperature gauge below zero

Hi all

Just bought a 2009 Ka and have noticed that when switched off both the needles for fuel and temperature go below horizontal almost touching the top of the multifunction display. This seems to be their new zero position as with a full tank of fuel the gauge only rises to the 3/4 mark. Similarly when the engine is warmed up the temperature needle just hovers over the minimum mark rather than being half way up as I would expect. Is there any easy fix?
