Sportka airbag light

Featured Replies

Hi all,

The wife has owned her sportka for over 2 years and recently while fault finding a different issue, the airbag light came on and remains on.

We have checked various areas that we had previously been working in and also checked earth points with no luck.

We have also done a hard reset by disconnecting the battery and connecting the negative and positive terminals together to reset all the modules in the car and again, the airbag light still remains on.

We do have a code reader but this doesn't go into the airbag side of things only engine related issues.

It has only the one airbag in the steering wheel.

Any ideas ?

The SRS warning light also includes the seatbelt pre-tensioners, so it's worth checking the plugs under the seats.  They can come loose and get knocked out when the seat is adjusted.

If it's not that, you'll need a better diagnostic tool to read the code.
