2014 Titanium 2L TD be cut out

Hi all, newby on here so be kind. I have a Titanium estate 2L Auto TD buis Ed mk4  2014, it's done 80000 and bought it 6 months ago with no problems, until yesterday 5mins into my journey it just cut out and glided safely to a halt, I think the gearbox flashed up on the screen, so turned everything off quickly, left it for 5 mins then started as normal, carried on my journey 45 mins and returned home. Has anyone else had this issue ? and is it a one off ? Will it happen again ?  Thanks for any info.
