Nick66
Hi, I have a 68 2.0l ST line hatch the outside temperature shows a consistent 10deg even though it’s been freezing. asked on a FB page where it - the sensor - was located and got told it was behind front bumper on the offside! got a new sensor from fords, only £5, set about removing the bumper only to find out there is no sensor there! Question - is there any other location the outside air temp sensor would be many thanks in advance

TrevorB
nick, put your veh VIN number in here. It should, repeat should, only give you parts used on your vehicle Have a look in the electrical section and it may help you to see the area where the sensor is located https://www.catcar.info/ford/?lang=en
iantt
If you have front parking sensors, it's located under the o/s/inner sensor and slightly to the left as you look at bumper in the grille openings. And you don't need to remove bumper to replace it.
Nick66
Cheers Trevor im pretty sure it wasn’t there when I had the bumper off! Although there was a plug not being used🤔 I think it had a knock before at sometime as the surround to the fog light on the o/s is textured and the n/s one is a black gloss finish. im thinking it’s been replaced (bumper/ fog light surround parking sensors)?? And they have omitted putting on the bit of cable that attaches the sensor to the loom? (Where the red arrow points) I’ll try and order one tomorrow once again thanks for the link 👍🏻

iantt
Yep, that's where it should go. Obviously default temp must be 10 c when faulty/ disconnected . Then Aircon and engine controls will function with that parameter.
