Fiesta screen not working

Featured Replies

Hi guys. My girlfriends 2016 Ford Fiestas centre screen has stopped working. We have tried a soft reset but nothing. The lines on the screen suggests the screen needs replacing?

any help would be appreciated.

thank you

I would get the big plastic top cover off, try disconnecting/reconnecting the wires to that screen, but yes it's probably broken.  Get the exact part number off the back of the screen and find one on the evil ebay.

Thanks for the reply. How easy is the cover to remove? I have limited DIY skills but I’d be confident in replacing the screen. Just removing the cover without causing damage would be my only concern and hers 😅

OK - so get some trim removal tools... or easier, bicycle tyre levers, the plastic ones - they cost a few quid and you'll need them again 😄

From memory (look at your own photo) start in the front right corner, just along the side a few cms towards the windscreen. IIRC the top plastic cover thing is held on in six? places - start at front corner and gently insert something plastic or wooden, work your way along the edge and it should pop off - there's a how-to in the interweb with photos - hang on.

You should only need to pop the top off to get at the screen.

Oh - some people suggest you can pull the two fuses that power the sound system, wait a few minutes and put them back - a hard reset - or do the same by disconnecting the battery; if you know what you are doing with battery connections (take just the negative off).... but that only seems to work occasionally.

Thanks again for your help. Think will pick some trim removal tools up in the morning then. Out of interest which fuses would I need to remove? I could give that ago and see if that has any effect?

Can't remember (I have several different cars) - but I think each fuse description is either in the fuse box lid or in your Driver's Manual.

And I took all of that trim apart recently and I didn't damage anything.  Though I have been taking cars apart for quite a few years 😄 I'm sure if you get the correct kit, and go easy at first, it'll be fine.

Sorry to resurrect this post but the same thing has happened to my 2016 Fiesta.

Did you find a fix for it?

Hi, I’m also having the same issue now, did you ever find a fix?
