Replacement PCM relay for mk3 Mondeo TDCi

I have, but K163 finds nothing. Nor does PCM relay. 

What is the full part number of the unit you have ?

Not taken it out to have a look-see yet. Have a very intermittent non starting problem which provides a P0685 code - this suggests the PCM relay might be faulty. 

I would be surprised if it was faulty. Far more likely that the SOC of your battery is low.
