Fluctuating temp gauge

Featured Replies

Temp gauge taking 5 or 6 miles to move of zero reachs normal then comes down to quater. Using heater blower makes gauge go lower turn of blower temp go's up standing idling goes down again had thermostat changed problem still same

Has it always been like this whilst you’ve had it or are you saying things have changed ?  I had a 1.6tdci fiesta from almost new and it never seemed to get high on the gauge and the gauge went down when idling or when I put heater on.  Which I always considered to be a sign of a very efficient engine that did not waste energy on producing excess heat.

this is normal have mk1 max gauge goes half way then drops back as temp rises nothing to worry about just keep your eye on coolant
