I know the cluster display is a complete unit at a ridiculous ford price, that needs coding to your car.

But is it possible to obtain a second hand cluster display and recode it to my mondeo?

Or, On looking at many photos of a cluster display. It looks possible to unclip the plastic mask from the cluster display unit and possibly reattach to my unit?

Removing the cluster display looks easy enough but if i disconnect my unit from the car just to change the plastic mask, would it need re-encoding back to the car?

Or would it be a simple plug back in and all is well?
