Fuel pump?

Hi. First time poster here.

car broke down start of jan. Went into limp mode Coming off the motorway.

breakdown believed it to be a fuel pump issue

when trust Ford have looked at it they’ve confirmed that to be the case. Metal in the pump so needs replacing new injectors the lot? They said would only fix and offer warranty if I replaced it all but to the tune of 5500. Car still worth 17/19 so makes sense to get it fixed and on the road.

 

hands tied really as I broke down in London on a trip from Manchester and my breakdown didn’t cover me to be towed home. 10 miles max and wanted to charge me £600 to get it home. Hence why I had to take it to a Ford garage in London. Poor customer service and lack of communication and a load of phone calls complaints makes me worry I’m being shafted

 

anyone had this issue? What was the cost?
