Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost cold air Intake kit

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I'm looking to get a cold air intake kit on my fiesta 1.0 ecoboost titanium and I'm struggling on which one to get. Does anyone have any information or experience in which one would be best? I'm trying to make sure I get a kit that will fit perfectly also so any links would be massively appreciated. Thank you guys

Depends on what you're trying to do really- air kits on their own achieve absolutely nothing.

I know that there are Forge and Airtec that people decide on but mixed opinions on both. It either one is louder or one looks nicer.

And yeah its only like what miniscule bhp increase but its makes the engine look nicer, just gotta find one that sounds nice too

I'd wager that most of them offer no measurable bhp increase at all on their own, so yes, it's purely for looks/noise, if that's your thing.

Measurable? Yes, most makers will show the dyno graph or quote the increase the achieved on the dyno. Is it noticeable? Maybe/maybe not

"Yeah does it make a difference in bhp?"
Company: "Yeah its measurable"
"By how much?"
Company: "0.0001 bhp, which is extremely beneficial"

Not actually seen a dyno readout for an intake kit used on its own - most seem to claim an increase when used in conjunction with a remap.

I see the Forge offering claims a noticeable increase in induction noise, if that's what's required, though my Mk 8 140 makes quite a growl anyway when given the beans and I can't imagine the Mk 7.5 being quieter.

Yes, even my humble Mk8 100PS makes a very pleasant sporty noise from up front when gunned. I can drive along quite normally and it's all quiet and civilized, but then when I want some 'go', it's all very pleasing; best of both worlds. I think it's an age thing, too- I'm almost 50, but some eager 18 year old might think a loud exhaust and a whoosy-sucky air filter are absolutely essential!

You are all wrong, adding an induction kit gives you over 100 bhp extra and the whooshing noise makes you more attractive, FACT! Add in a hand brake turn, and the world is your oyster 😂.  As said above, it will depend on if you are after real power gains or just enjoyment from the noise it will add?  If it is for real power gains, just adding more air to the mix will not always help.  The engine management system is setup to the standard air box and so adding more air can confuse it and make it run worse or not as efficient and so will need a remap for fuel and air mixture to be right to get the gains. Plus you will probably need to upgrade the hoses etc...too and exhaust if you want to push the power up more.  The other issue you will have on the 1.0, is the turbo is very close to the air box. By putting an induction filter so close will cause heat soak and instead of the intended more cold air, you will have hot air and so will not be efficient.  Even the heat shields you can get, do not really do much, as on a spirited drive, the 1.0 gets hot under the hood.  The ITG induction kit is probably the best as it is positioned below the headlight in the wing. This is well away from the turbo and you can direct a flexi pipe hose from the front, so it has direct cold air getting to it.  If it is just enjoyment from the noise, why not, it's you car and money.

Hello mate, just coming back to this as its getting close to the time of getting on.
Just wanted to say thanks a lot, as well as the other people who gave answers, always wondered why some people have inductions kits under the headlight and now I know lol.

Im stuck between these two, I can't find any videos on the Pumaspeed Gemini one. Wanted to ask on your opinions:

R-Sport Stage 3: https://pumaspeed.co.uk/product-R-Sport-Fiesta-Mk7-10-EcoBoost-Stage-3-Full-Induction-Kit_16822.jsp

I am planning to get a Stage 1 remap on 1.0L Red Edition as well later on in the year.
Many thanks!

I can't understand why folk want their car to make more noise.   I'd pay to have mine quieter especially on a long journey.

I'd say because most of the people here don't take long journeys, but I'm pretty dead here XD
The younger like car noises, I know I do. Even the little "sssss" from the turbo of my Red Edition makes me happy. On top of that people just like modifying and letting their cars talk the talk and not just walk the walk.

I get why some people wouldn't like it though, its nice to have a quiet drive especially when its everyday and your travelling from say London to somewhere like Folkstone or Dymchurch.
But me personally I don't mind loud cars, as long as its not something breaking or already broken. I don't get the people who get Pop and Bang maps as loud as they can and tear through neighbourhoods being an inconvenience, theres a time and place for that stuff like track events and such.

Anyway there's my opinion, have a nice day lol

Dont waste your money. Real BHP gains mean serious money must be spent. Just save up and get an ST2 or 3
