Ford Ka, Knackered Map Sensor??

Featured Replies

Hi all, new here.

Ive got a problem with my gf Ford Ka. Its 1.3 2003.

1st off the revs where fluctuating when idle and the engine stalled when the accelerator was depressed. I cleaned the air bypass valve and refitted. The problem was fixed for about an hour.

Ive fitted a new Air bypass valve but now the engine sits at 1000rpm at idle. When i depress the accelerator it chugs, revs drop and theres no power there at all.

Could this be the MAP sensor? Where is this located? I was told by the garage if i disconnect this it should work and ill fit a new one. Also the engime management light is on too

Thanks for the help

Pete

Just disconnected the MAP sensor but the engine wont start at all without it. Is this normal and should i just get a new one anyway?
