I had problems with poor running, fuel warning light coming on at half tank and fuel gauge all over the place. I thought it may be the sender and bought a British pump / sender and took the car to my local garage. The electrics had being checked out by Auto Electrics, who said it was not the gauge or the harness. The old pump was taken out and fell in bits, the tank was check and the new pump/ sender fitted. The car starts better, runs better and the MPG has gone up. The acceleration is great, However, I can hear the new pump humming on start up, the manual says you should be the pump at first, is the true? Another question is why don't Fords fit British pumps, they are cheaper and work better?
