I don't quite understand the question. If you know which sensor is faulty then the only answer to the question is replace the sensor.

I thought this site might direct me to a supplier and/or fitter other than 'Ford' dealers who are quoting daft prices.

I cant find any ford garages other than main franchised dealers

Any half decent general garage can replace the sensor, it doesn't have to be a Ford garage. They would also normally source and supply the replacement sensor as most garages do not like fitting parts supplied by the customer.

Sensors can be bought form any number of aftermarket supplies like 'Euro Car Parts' or 'Autodoc'.

How do you know for sure that it is the offside sensor that is faulty ? have you tested the wiring and the connector ?

Thanks, I've had a diagnostic check by a friend who identified the problem. My usual garage won't touch it saying it's an airbag related issue abd wouldn't go there.

That only means a DTC has been logged. It could be anyone of a number of things related to the sensor. It's common for there to be corrosion of the connector and/or wires.

You need to get an Auto-Electrician. There are many about just do a search for one in your area.
