Front and rear camera washers

Featured Replies

They do say every day is a learning day.  Today I learned that both my front and rear cameras have jet wash nozzles.  A quick google and I now know how to activate the washers 😁

I'm intrigued, I had to go and have a look and found the one on the front camera but can't see anywhere on the rear camera for a washer jet. the front works at the same time as the windscreen washers, how does the rear one work?

Front works only if you have the front camera on at the same time as you wash your windscreen.  The rear works with the rear wash/wipe action.  The info I have does not state that the rear camera needs to be operating for wash to occur, however, having the camera on allows you to see the wash occurring

Do you have a pic of your rear camera? I've had a good look at mine and can't see anywhere for the water to come out of, I'm thinking ford only put it on the face lifted edges 2019 onwards. The front does work when you are using the camera as I had a play last night.

It's the bit marked in red, just above camera

Thanks for taking the time to take a picture, it does look like Ford added the spray to the rear camera on the face lifted Edges, I defiantly don't have anything like that on the rear camera on mine.

One out of two isn't too bad 🙂

Do they work though? Nothing else seems to on an Edge

Mine do, the cameras need to be active at the time you wash, you can see the jet of water working

I have a 2024 Edge Titanium which is identical to the 2023.

IT DOES NOT HAVE A REAR CAMERA WASHER, Grrrrrrrrrrr...

I had it on my previous 2019 Edge.

The picture from the camera at night is very dim, terrible.

Can the washer be added?

Ohh interesting!!!!!

(runs out to car to start playing)

can i install a jet washer or does it come as part of the rear view camera?

Anyone has a view of how the plumbing is for that in the ear lift gate.

Thanks

My dad is an employee at Ford and they removed the front and rear camera washers in 2024 as well as some other features to cut down the cost of building the vehicles. If you do try and install one on your own or mess with plumbing ect it will void the warranty on the vehicle so be careful

A little bit of scare mongering there, not all mods void warranty and even if a mod does void warranty it only voids the associated part
