Mondeo mk3 st tdci

Featured Replies

Hi new to the group an also new to a Ford first one iv owned, currently got a mk3 st tdci mondeo had an issue with my rpm counter seems to like go up but not freely like it should  an like sticking cars done 98k I thought it could be the clocks so iv bought another set fitted them same issue I don't suppose anyone can point me in the right direction to as what it is surely two sets of clocks can't of failed thanks in advance

Sure the clutch isn't slipping?

If not, the crank sensor is what provides the RPM reading so might be worth replacing that.

Yeah sure it's not clutch does it sat still revving iv gone on hidden menu says 9318 low battery voltage scrolling on the menu says bat 13.5 starts everytime no issues no other codes I'm aware of thanks

Also when I go through the hidden menu it does the needle sweep fine no issues doesmt stutter or stick only when revved,I changed the front wheel speed sensor a few weeks ago as I had traction control light an abs light on could it be that causing my issue?thanks

The hidden menu isn't particularly helpful tbh.  Forscan is much better for code finding.

As it's the RPM and not the speedo, then it's the crank sensor that provides that input as above.

OK pal I'll look into that no other issues other than rev counter been a pain

IF you think the rev counters a pain, wait till you look for the crank sensor, never mind changing it!

Haha are they that bad?
