How to play CD

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Any suggestions on how I can play CDs in my Ford kuga 20 reg ST Line, or which unti would be best. I know there is a lot of mention of copying the CDs onto a memory stick but i just want to be able to play a specific CD instead of a mixture

Thanks

Tony

Covert CDs to MP3 files and transfer as files to USB then you can select the folder to play. Or get spotify

I think the point is there is no CD player anymore.

What's a cd? 🤣

A CD player can only be installed as a factory fitted option. In some countries however the optional CD player is not even available.

Retrofitting the CD player is not possible. The CD player and wiring harness can be installed but until now there is no way to activate it within the software.

A poor audio version of a vinyl where the signal is distorted through a transistor rather than a thermionic device !

Uh wuh ? LOL

As long as you format your usb as a fat 32 you can fill it no matter size, and most usb units allow you to pick which albums you want to listen to in the menu.

Sync3 isn't 'most' units...  It won't play USB files in folder order, just mashes them altogether unless you specifically pick each track/folder at a time.  😒  The VAG system is far superior...and they've had SD input since about 2004!  It's not even like Sync3 is reliable, takes ages to come on and then gets stuck regularly as well.

Would a usb cd player work in the central console?

PAH, music is old skool. You guys need to move on and listen to "name that rattle" far more intresting during any journey and you don't need to tune in either.

I find music enhances my rattles.

I find music masks my rattles. Or telling  her to shut up generally works.

I talk to my sat-nav and tell her to shut up or ...... OFF, when going somewhere new, or best when they pronounce street names wrong.

she says Lietham not Lytham

If the MP3s are tagged properly then the Sync3 will sort them into Albums automatically complete with Album Art. My Sync3 starts briskly and doesn't get stuck regularly at all so your sweeping statement, although your experience. does not necessarily apply to all.

I always run any downloaded albums through mp3tag, freely available and easy to use. connects to a number of databases to infill any missing info.

I also use mp3tag, great free program.
