Focus MK4 Door Handle Replacement (Nearside Passenger)

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm in a bit of sticky situation, I had someone damage my door whilst I was asleep and had to get the passenger nearside door repaired and repainted. The repair and respray turned out great but the person who did the job gave me a honest call and said they can't figure out how to re-attach the Door handle and wouldn't want to force it back on damaging it(I wasn't amused but was happy they were honest about it).

I've had a look around Google etc and can't find any guides or videos of someone having done it before, the handle is slightly different from then MK3 Focus which I believe came off in two different sections and re-attached in the same way. He explained to me that he had remove a seal within the door frame and inside there is screw within that he loosened and the door handle came off. He tried to re-attach it the same way but no luck.

Does anyone have any advice on how to re-attach it or can point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

This document shows how to deal with handles. That's what I can help with since I haven't unmount handles at all.

Ford documentation is ambiguous, full of not clear actions to do. Anyway, good luck.

Hey, this was some years ago but the same document helped me a lot when checking how to replace a scratched up door handle, thanks! 🙂
