No pulling power at lower rpm (2009 MK4 Mondeo 2.0 Tdci)

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have an issue with a ford Mondeo 2.0 Tdci MK4 from beginning of 2009 with around 275+ km. The issue started some time ago, where in the beginning at the lower RPM there was essentially no power from the engine when the engine was cold and when the RPM was below 2.2k. In fact, it struggled to even go up the hill at lower RPM. Initially, if the engine warmed up, the problem disappeared and the car also pulled as it should, at lower RPM. If the RPM goes above the around 2.2k, it started to pull away normally. However, recently, this problem persists independent if the engine is warm or cold. Hence I disconnected the MAF and the car runs much better. I bought a new MAF and changed the part, but the problem did not improve. Would any of you more knowledgeable have some ideas on what the problem could be? My goal is to try to fix it myself, somehow, if possible.

Best,

WhL
