My Ford Edge has done just over 21K. A transmission service was recommended when I had a recent regular service but declined at that time. What is the cheapest option for getting this done and how much should I expect to pay for it?

Service schedule is every 2 years/18k miles.
Transmission schedule is every 4 years I believe.

My services only have been approx £400.
The one time so far I got the transmission done, the service plus that was approx £800.

All done at a Ford dealer.

If your vehicle has the Getrag Powershift 6DCT450 trans a service is required every 3 years or 37,500 miles, whichever occurs first.

To hopefully have a good length of life it is imperative these trans services are done

If IRC approx dealer cost is £250 to £300. Labour time is low but the genuine oil is the expensive part. I would not use non genuine oil

Doing the trans service is not just drain and refill, it is a specific run of processes. You can find video's on Y Tube and numerous Ford forums

The trans is also used in many Volvo models so you could also use a Volvo dealer
