Clutch

Featured Replies

Can anyone help, we have a 2015 Ka that recently had the master and slave cylinder replaced. A couple of months later the clutch fluid reservoir broke free of its mount (the plastic clip broke). The bottle is in tact and there are no leaks at and my local garage has said you cannot buy just the bottle as it is supplied as part of the master cylinder assembly - at almost the same cost as I paid only a couple of months ago. I've had a look online without much success at finding a replacement bottle and my local scrap yard does not have any either. Has anyone got any ideas where I can get a replacement / second hand reservoir? At the moment the garage has tied it up so it won't move about but I would rather have it fixed properly.

Why is this your problem and not the garage who fitted the 'New Master Cylinder Assembly' ?

Problem is simple, either (a) the new replacement part was defective, and it will have at least a 6 month if not a 12 month warranty. Or (b) it was damaged or poorly fitted by the garage who fitted the new master cylinder.

Either way, it is up to the garage who did the work to sort it out Free of charge.
