How to replace mk4 focus rear brake discs and pads??

Hi all, I'm looking to replace the rear brake discs and pads on my 2019 mk4 focus active x before it's MOT. Just wanting to double check that after the parking brake is in maintenance mode, does that mean the rear caliper pistons are fully withdrawn and don't need pushed back or wound in at all with a tool before removing the brake pads? Struggling to search and find the right answer so thanks in advance for any help, photos or guide you can give me,

Where are you Andy? I’m pretty good at changing pads.

Tuned my 1 litre ecoboost to 670BHP and 575Nm. ***** flies. Done 250,000 miles since the tune all original engine components.  Only thing I’ve had to do is oil changes and brake pads. 
 

If you in the north west I’ll raz it round and give you a hand. 

The rear caliper once in maintenance mode, all you need to do is push the caliper piston back in. No rotation required. 

What mileage have you done?  It seems unusual that a 2019 car needs new rear discs and pads.

A quarter of a million miles in a 1.0 ecoboost is quite an achievement, even more remarkable that all you have needed is oil changes and brake pads.

Many here will be envious that you have not needed to replace the spark plugs or even the air filter and of course the wet timing belts which after that mileage would normally have been replaced twice.

Unless predictive text has gone mad, that looks like an extremely impressive output. I'd be very interested to see a post as to how you got there.

I have only seen tuned 2.0l Cosworth YB used in Rallycross with those sort of figures, Like this one, they certainly can't be made from a standard 1.0 EcoBoost 3pot. 170BHP is more likely, not 570! Even the R2 rally car has 200 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque from a 1l EcoBoost. I'm sure both those racing engines will have to rebuilt at least once every season, so certainly wouldn't last 250k miles.

I think we have a spammer/troll, especially as it's his first post, so probably ignored. I too would be very interested if what he said was genuinely true.

BTW, sorry for going :offtopic: I presume your car has an electronic handbrake so hence putting in maintenance mode. Normally you rewind the piston back back with a special tool if it was a manual one. I have no experience with electronic handbrakes.

OP just made a typo, he missed the decimal point out, should have read 67.0 BHP

The non-turbo 1.0 Eco engine (Eco without Boost) as was fitted to basic the Fiesta Ecoboost. Not sure if the heavier Focus got it though.

That I find astonishing is the 1.0 ecoboost was fitted to the Mk5 Mondeo!!!

Quite possibly. We have friends who both have cars approaching 600bhp. Not 1.0 ecoboosts though - "his" is a Nissan GT-R Nismo, "hers" is a Merc E63S AMG.😀

 

 

 

 

Ford design team are trying to trace the OP as they want to know how the hell he got 250,000 miles out of a wet belt when they specifically designed the engine to self destruct at 100,000 miles 🤣

I know they are even heavier than the focus it must of been very gutless 😂
