Streetka, rear ABS sensor ring.

Featured Replies

Going to change the bearings on the NS rear of our Streetka. Done this many times years ago on various types but I see that the Streetka has an ABS sensor ring which has to be removed. Manuals simply advise on fitting a new ring, however can they be successfully removed and refitted. Looks like you have to remove it to get the seal and bearings out anyway.

If so, any advice on how, I've seen videos of them attacked with pry bars etc and simply  hammered back on, is that the only way?

I can turn something up to press one on rather than use a big hammer.

I'll answer my own question. We made up a small slide hammer to gently remove the ABS ring with no damage and then turned up a nylon adaptor to press the ring back on, with no damage to the encoded section.

success.

FYI, the inner bearing starting to break up, definately the time to replace it.
