Engine malfunction message

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how to clear/reset this engine malfunction message?

A hose split and the engine lost all its coolant, the car was in traffic & hot. This message came up & the car cut out.  I have replaced the hose & filled the engine with coolant. The message still shows. The car will not start, it turns over but does not fire.
I’ve used a ODB2 reader to check for fault codes, it came up with 2263. I’ve cleared the code, but the message is still on the dash & the car will not start.
Can anyone give me any advice.
Many thanks in advance

Which engine?

Major coolant loss is often more terminal than just replacing a pipe and topping it up.

P2263 is a turbo fault, shouldn't stop the engine from starting.  I assume that was read with a generic reader, not Forscan?

I suspect that there is still an issue.

You need to use FORScan and a good quality ELM327(modified) lead and you will be able to read the Ford specific DTC's. Generic code readers will not give you all the information.

Is your engine the 2.0 Tdci ?

Does it crank at a higher speed than normal?  Does the battery 'tire' quickly, or does it crank 'forever'?
