Edge 2018 ,after driving for a short time engine reaches temp ,put the speed up say 60 then sometimes a yellow warning light comes on saying malfunction transmission,my garage said the main box is not talking to gear box ,it needs to go to fords .no fault

Ford Edge 2018 ,19457 miles every now and then a yellow malfunction transmission light comes on and pres the ok button,the a w d picture showing power to front and back wheels the front goes off ,my garage tested it and advised it’s got to go to main dealership,booked it sat there for 6 hrs ,they came back and said can’t find anything wrong. My garage said the main box is not talking the gear box.ford garage said we will it for 2 days . Any ideas ? Thank u

    Hello Mick, firstly let me congratulate you on having the longest title ever seen on FOC 🤣

    My thoughts would be possible wiring damage to the TCM.

    You should down load FORScan (it's free) and get a new 'vLinker FS' lead and then you will be able to check for Ford specific DTC's without the need to go to the main dealer.

    I'd remove the connectors from the TCM and take the back shell covers off and check inside the connector for wiring damage. This can cause intermittent faults and often the DTC is erased when the ignition is turned off.
