Tyre sensors

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just had 2 new tyre valve pressure sensors fitted.

The garage tell me that they are self learning and recognise themselves in time.

Is that correct?

Thanks for that.

I have previously got the car into training mode but don't know what to do after that.

The manual states to then use the tool to train the TPMS valves.

Thinking why show you a manual way if you have to use the tool on step 2.

Do you put it into training mode then drive the car

Just to add, originally just changed 2 valves due to air leaking. Nothing wrong with sensors. But they advised me 1 needed replacing as it was broke. I reckon they broke it when doing the valve. Over 2 months now and car still not resetting the sensors.

They charged me £60 for the sensor.

Found out today why the car sensors were not resetting. The tyre had no sensor in.

I paid £60 and they did not fit a sensor.

Took it back to garage and all they said is how did that happen?

Obvious I thought, you didn't put one in.

They don't disintegrate.

As a public service, aren't you going to name that reputable garage that charge literally for thin air? LOL 🤣

I had a faulty TPMS valve done at "you can't get better than a ......." it was only 20pounds

Peter/Simon, for reference, how do I get my Edge into "training mode"?

The KwikFit folk should have done that for you... (I'd go back if all they did was 'replace' it without getting it to work)

Hi Stephen, its working fine, I was just curious how to put the Edge in "training mode"

Hi Goldie, have a look at the documents I posted further back up the topic. One of those details the process.

cheers

i purchased 4 valves off ebay as the sensors just screw onto the  bottom end of the valve, and are self calibrating ,reason for purchase was an air leak on the valve after new tyres fitted  ,they split ,common fault  apparently .
