Issue with revs falling irregularly

Hi all!

Having a strange issue with my 2011 ford mondeo mk4. Engine is 2.0 tdci diesel. When in gear and driving, after pressing the clutch pedal revs drop from (for example) 2000 to 1500, pause for like a second, and then to idle. It does it in every gear except in 6th. Has anyone had this issue on their mondeo (or any other car) and knows what is causing it ? there are also no fault codes. If I try revving the engine in neutral, revs drop normally. Really hope someone has any ideas.
