Coolant leaking from EGR Cooler pipe

Featured Replies

Hi not sure how it is leaking but it is leaking from around this pipe on to the egr cooler. I don't believe pipe has a hole and either the clip has stretched or the pipe has stretched it is 13 years old but I cant find what the part number is or how easy it is to replace.

Before going ford and asking them just to do it I would prefer to do it myself, I have attached a photo and video of pipe in question and trying to show it isn't a constant squirt it seems to be excessive movement in the pipe.

On etis it comes up with: 2.0L Duratorq-TDCi (143PS) - DW,

I've had a quick look on 7Zap but can't see it either.  Do you know where the other end of the hose goes?

I'd probably just remove it and see what's inside.  There may be an O-ring in there that could be replaced.  If it just relies on the plastic alone for a seal, then it's likely to be worn and need replacing.

I did wonder if there was an O ring but again can't find nothing online or 7zap regarding it. It was suggested to use a bit of PTFE on the EGR cooler itself and then put the pipe back over but I would personally rather just replace it especially if it is relatively easy which I think it will be

Does it go straight to the heater matrix?  I think it might be this one if so - 1459701.

I have the exact same problem. Losing a lot of coolant with steam coming from the engine. The affected heater hose that plugs onto the egr cooler does have an O ring!  I removed the affected o ring and it was damaged, I replaced the o ring with a dab of silicone lube. Easily done done without removing nothing apart from the engine cover.
