The "two key" option was removed as a way to programme in extra keys by Ford quite a few years ago now. Older vehicles 2013 and before can use the software FORScan to add or delete keys but newer vehicles have to have the keys added (or deleted) by a Ford dealer (AFAIK) at around £200 to supply and programme a new key.

Many auto locksmiths are able to clone your existing key which many owners are willing to accept as an alternative. Expect to pay between £90 and £140 depending on the type of key you have.

The attached document is out of the service manual for a 2016 Edge, so the 2 key method 'may' be available. It does state though ...

  • NOTE: This procedure works only if the spare key programming is enabled.
  • NOTE: Two previously programmed keys are required to perform this procedure.

So, FORScan can enable the programming if it's not already enabled, but you still need 2 keys to start with!! which @barry1959 sadly doesn't have.

So, an expensive trip to a Ford dealer is the only option!
