Mk 2 2000 Mondeo. Door lock controls?

Featured Replies

I have a 2000 MK2 Mondeo Verona that's only key access central locking. I know how to lock the doors from the inside but the manual doesn't tell me how to unlock them again. There's no button I can find to unlock them, only pushing in the drivers side handle to lock the doors. I'd also like to know if there's some access control to control the passenger side using the power windows as the down arrow button doesn't work for the passenger but up does. There's no controls I can find that seem to control this.

Hi, on the mk3 you pull the centre part of the part of the internal handle (the one you push to lock it).... to unlock it.

Yeah it doesn't have that. Just the solid handle you push in. Pulling on it doesn't do anything sadly.

All Veronas were remote central, double locking.

Sounds like you need to investigate some electrical issues.

Start with the GEM and check fuses

Mine doesn't have remote central locking at least it didn't come with a remote. I bought it second hand. It seems that the passenger side will unlock when the handle is pulled but not drivers side after testing it with the wife in the car. Thanks for the advice.

It seems that it's an optional extra for the Verona from what I've looked up. Looks like the door lock controller drivers side just doesn't work and the passenger switch for the window may be crappy. The switch I can replace myself without a problem however the lock controller is outside of my experience. I'll have a look at the fuses however I suspect if the passenger can unlock it but driver can't, it's going to be the switch in the door panel. The damned boot also doesn't unlock with pushing the lock barrel in either (had to consult the manual for how to open the boot without the key).

UK spec Verona was based on LX spec.

Electric front windows, remote central, double locking👍
