Well the existing Ford timing belt and Ford water pump has got the engine to 84872 miles, so my recommendation would be to fit the same again. If you are looking for a cheaper option then there are suppliers like Euro Car Parts, but of course the quality will also be less.

You could leave the choice up to your mechanic and then if things don't go to plan, they will have to sort it out.

Buying parts yourself and getting someone else to fit is always a potential problem. If there is a problem -  the mechanic will say it’s a parts problem ,  who you bought parts from will say it’s a fitting problem.   If mechanic chooses supplies and fits then you don’t get involved in that squabble.  Your contract is with him for supply and fit and then it’s all the mechanics problem to sort it out. But it may cost more.

I just paid my local Ford dealer to do it, saved me a load of hassle. £600 for my facelift 2.2  All Ford parts used, Timing belt kit inc pulleys and tensioner, waterpump and aux belt.

With my previous car I found the difference between and Indy and main dealer was only £50.

Dealer was more expensive however it's manufacturers parts and warranty and included everything you mentioned above too.

When my Mondeo needs done I'll most likely go to Ford.

My car is a 2017 so won't be needed for a while going by the change intervals in service book.

Sneaky Peeker Alert !!! 😧

One post on Wednesday 2:43pm and then checks back Thursday afternoon. I guess the answers were not to their liking.
